Kelsey Anderson, LMHC
Kelsey Anderson is the founder of Kelsey Anderson Mental Health Counseling PLLC, a group psychotherapy practice grounded in depth psychology, cultural awareness, and integrative healing. She is currently licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey. Her professional journey reflects a commitment to understanding the human psyche through both clinical rigor and the symbolic, spiritual dimensions of emotional life.

Kelsey began her academic training in psychology at The City College of New York (CUNY), where her studies provided not only a foundation in psychological theory, but also a framework for understanding her own personal trauma and the early stages of transformation. This formative period shaped her belief that insight, when paired with compassionate support, can catalyze lasting change.

She went on to earn her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University, Brooklyn, completing her studies in 2015. Following graduate school, Kelsey spent three years working in social service settings, where she developed a strong clinical foundation in behavioral theory and evidence-based practice. During this time, she worked as a therapist in foster care and preventive care programs for adolescents, as well as in substance use counseling—experiences that deepened her understanding of systemic trauma, attachment, and resilience.

In 2017, Kelsey expanded her work beyond traditional clinical settings by founding a spiritual counseling practice. From 2017 to 2022, she professionally practiced palmistry, tarot, Reiki, and spiritual counseling, integrating symbolic and intuitive modalities with psychological insight. In 2022, she became a Reiki Master and a certified hypnotherapist, further refining her ability to work with the subconscious and somatic dimensions of healing.

Since 2022, Kelsey has focused on advancing her psychotherapeutic approach through Applied Jungian Analysis, interpersonal therapy, and dream analysis. Her current clinical work centers on supporting individuals experiencing long-term depression and anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, and anger management concerns. She is particularly attuned to patterns that persist beneath conscious awareness and believes that meaningful healing often emerges when these patterns are explored with care and intention.

To deepen and contextualize her work, Kelsey has studied Egyptology and Ancient Christianity at the American University in Cairo, Egypt in 2024, exploring the historical and symbolic intersections between spirituality, religion, and mental health. While working briefly with O7 Therapy in Cairo, she served clients across the Middle East, expanding her understanding of North African and Arab perspectives on mental health, community, and identity.

Today, Kelsey’s approach is informed by the belief that mental health does not exist in isolation. She works to address both the individual psyche and the collective unconscious of the communities she serves, offering a diverse and responsive array of psychotherapeutic services designed for modern life. Through her practice, she aims to create space for insight, integration, and sustainable emotional well-being.
