Sophia Barbera - Advanced
Clinical Resident
I am a Mental Health Counseling Intern currently obtaining my master's degree from Hofstra University. I received my bachelor's in psychology with a minor in sociology also from Hofstra. I believe that therapy should be a comfortable, and judgment-free space where you feel safe being your authentic self. I value authenticity, comfort, and embrace culture. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Therapy, and Existential Therapy to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of purpose.
I aim to integrate many therapeutic frameworks and techniques into my work to best meet the needs of my clients. Whether you are working through a difficult problem, navigating a life transition, setting personal goals, or simply celebrating your accomplishments, I am here to meet you where you're at. Together, we can explore what is meaningful to you, develop tools to navigate challenges, and work toward creating a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with who you are.
